Blitz, Year 2

Today marks my official completion of my second annual BLITZ. This year there were a few updates to the requirements; 200 sales calls, must talk to homebased agents.

That second one got me pretty good. A lot of agents in my territory are in fact, home based. Most of them also have full-time day jobs, so getting a hold of them during buisness hours is tough. But whatever, I’m done.

Since my last post in Lake Charles I have hit the following places:

Monroe, LA

Lafayette, LA

Gadsden, AL

Houma, LA

Morgan City, LA

Baton Rouge, LA

Hernando, MS

Meridian, MS

Picayune, MS

Hattiesburg, MS

Purvis, MS

Mobile, AL

Fairhope, AL

That’s 34 days out of my bed from Jan 2- March 30. Ok, 3 nights were home in VA surprising my parents for Easter.

Yes home. REAL home. With the whole family and everything! I hadn’t been home since Christmas and I was in serious need of some family loving. It’s always my center, I spent a lot of time just sleeping… but I always recharge when around the fam. And a favorite lunch with my church friend always re-focuses/re-grounds me.

Nugget is growing up SO fast. He’s saying everybody’s names and carrying on short sentences. It’s a lot of fun trying to figure out what he’s saying.

Other fun items of note would be Once in a Brew Moon, a fun evening at City Park’s botanical gardens which is set up with a handful of carnival rides. I went with the girls andย it was a blast! All you can ride & drink from 7-10:30pm.

Also St. Patrick’s Day festivities ๐Ÿ™‚

I managed to find my former Redskins coworker whose wedding I crashed last year. New addition to their family, a 4 month old adorable baby girl! They also switched up the parade on us this year, and the weatherman called for rain…. so the parade took for-ev-er and we ended up leaving after I caught a great string of beads and of course, a tiara ๐Ÿ™‚

My boss came into my territory as well, I kept her very busy with meetings & evening events. We’re all good now & it was a confidence booster I needed moving into the second half of blitz.

My end of blitz took me to Mobile, AL. It’s only about 2 hours from NOLA and has a good handful of agencies for me to visit. I also always end up passing by Battleship Pkwy, its kind of a fun sign to drive by, but it also leads to the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park.

I always tell myself I’m going to stop in but never have the time. Today I did.

I did not do my research before arriving, and completely missed the $2 cash only parking fee. I never carry cash so of course I didn’t have any on me. I asked the gate if they took card…. they don’t (surprise). The guard asked if I was going to take the tour, I told her I just wanted to take a quick picture this time, and she allowed me through if I promised to buy a postcard from the gift shop. ($0.35 post card, deck of cards & shot glass were all purchased). And the above phenomenal photos were snapped. No extra charge for the Sandals car ๐Ÿ˜‰

Like I’ve said countless times, I’m always up for a spontaneous adventure. I love exploring this crazy world we live in and absorbing/learning everything I can.

Break the routine, take a trip, explore your town, just do something NEW.

I also managed to be coherced into signing up for my SECOND Disney Half-Marathon weekend. November I’ll be headed back to Disney to take on 19.3 miles in Lumiere’s two course challenge at the Wine & Dine event. I managed to register while in the middle of a meeting with a new agent…. talk about multitasking! I guess it filled up pretty quick.

Bring it On. Guess its time I started a workout regimen again.
